ANAHEIM, Calif. (Nov. 11, 2023) – As part of Disney’s enduring respect for those who serve in the military and their families, Disneyland Resort hosted a special flag retreat ceremony followed by a C-17 Globemaster flyover by the U.S. Air Force in honor of Veterans Day.
Led by the U.S. Marine Corps First Division Marine Band, SALUTE (Disney’s Business Employee Resource Group for military service members, veterans and families), marched down Main Street, U.S.A., to Town Square, where they participated in the longstanding daily flag retreat tradition, which began on Disneyland’s opening day in 1955 and has endured ever since.
Disney’s support for the U.S. Armed Forces is an important part of the company’s history and dates back to its founding 100 years ago with Walt and his brother, Roy Disney, who both served their country during World War I.
B-roll and soundbites from Ken Potrock, President, Disneyland Resort and General David Allvin, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force.
