Guest Rooms: The bright and whimsical décor gives nods to Pixar throughout the comfortable and contemporary accommodations, with art curated expressly for the hotel and a Pixar Lamp in each room. The headboards consist of concept art from a variety of Pixar features, including “The Incredibles,” “Toy Story 3” and more, arranged in order from warm to cool colors to demonstrate the importance of color to the tone of a scene.

Contemporary accommodations and amenities, reimagined with Pixar artistry
Pixar Place Hotel is designed to evoke the inspiration and humor in every Pixar film, while celebrating the artistic process. Showcasing early sketches to finished design, the décor depicts memorable moments from Pixar stories and reveals some never-before-seen artwork.
“At Pixar, our mission is to tell great stories. And nothing is more exciting than when we see those stories come to life in Disney parks. Pixar Place Hotel at the Disneyland Resort is the perfect example – it’s like walking into a world of Pixar. It’s truly immersive, and we’re thrilled to have collaborated with Walt Disney Imagineering to make such an experience possible for guests,” said Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter.
The redesigned lobby is landmarked by a large sculpture of the iconic Pixar Lamp balancing atop its ball. Floating from the skylight above, a mobile represents the beginning stages of Pixar filmmaking – and guests’ stays – with character designs made of basic shapes and colors.
At select times, Joe Gardner from “Soul” may be found playing the piano near the hotel’s staircase. Appearing for the first time at any Disney property, Bing Bong from “Inside Out” may be found creating core photo memories with guests at select times.
From concept art on the headboards to pillows inspired by the Pixar Ball, and more, the reimagined guest rooms incorporate whimsical nods to the world-renowned animation studio. Some of the art was created by Pixar Animation Studios artists especially for Pixar Place Hotel.
When final touches are complete later this year, Pixar Place Hotel will have 479 total guest rooms, including two new, two-bedroom themed signature suites, plus a new concierge lounge. The colorful Coco Suite will pay tribute to Miguel and his family’s legacy through vibrant Oaxacan art, while the midcentury modern Incredibles Suite will feature Parr family memorabilia with a spy-fi twist. The Creators Club concierge lounge on the second floor will honor the partnership between Walt Disney Imagineering and Pixar Animation Studios with attraction posters, concept art and music from Pixar experiences in Disney parks around the world.
Upgraded rooftop recreation areas create an oasis for play and relaxation. A great location to view fireworks on select nights, the rooftop deck is a cozy gathering space with plush couches and fire pits themed to hotheaded Pixar characters. The nearby Pixar Shorts Court offers outdoor games themed to Pixar short films. Guests can also lounge by the Pixel Pool; frolic in the “Finding Nemo”-themed splash pad, Nemo’s Cove; or take a ride on the 186-feet-long Crush’s Surfin’ Slide.
Mike and Sulley from “Monsters University” can be spotted on treadmills in a mural at the expanded fitness center. A nod to the film “WALL-E,” the STOR-E retail location in the lobby offers Pixar-themed apparel and toys, along with Disneyland Resort souvenirs and sundries.
Modern American dining, curated by Great Maple
The creativity and comfort of Pixar Place Hotel is also reflected in new, upscale culinary offerings. Guests can savor elevated takes on American classics at three delectable dining locations operated by Southern California-based Great Maple.
Accessible to hotel guests, local diners and theme park goers, the 6,500 square-foot Great Maple restaurant on the ground floor serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Signature dishes include buttermilk fried chicken and maple bacon doughnuts, Cajun shrimp and cheddar biscuit benedict, and soda pop-braised baby back ribs.
The grab-and-go lobby coffee shop, The Sketch Pad Café, offers assorted pastries, coffee and tea. When the rooftop pool bar Small Bytes opens in early March, a selection of beverages, salads, wraps, cheese plates and more will be available with an incredible view of Disneyland Resort. In addition, Great Maple will provide food and beverage service to the Creators Club concierge lounge when it opens.

Alaska Airlines celebrates the return of Mickey Mouse in its fleet with latest special edition aircraft
SEATTLE — (Nov. 1, 2023) — Alaska Airlines’ newest, uniquely themed aircraft will be soaring through the skies today with a touch of magic from everyone’s favorite pal, Mickey Mouse. After the big reveal of this specially themed plane at a gate ceremony in Seattle, passengers will board the inaugural flight to Orange County, Calif., to visit “The Happiest Place on Earth” at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. Named “Mickey’s Toontown Express,” the celebrated plane is now flying on routes across Alaska’s network.
Adorned with playful images of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, along with their pals Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck and Daisy Duck in Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park, the Boeing 737-800, tail number 565AS, is Alaska Airlines’ eighth livery in collaboration with Disneyland Resort. For the unique design – which even includes Chip ‘n’ Dale on the boarding doors and winglets – it took artists over 400 hours and 20 days to hand-paint the brightly colored aircraft exterior from nose to tail.
“It’s heartening how much our Disneyland Resort-themed airplanes spark joy in our guests – young and young at heart. What makes this even more special is the return of Mickey Mouse on an Alaska Airlines plane since he made his debut on our fleet eight years ago,” said Sangita Woerner, Alaska’s senior vice-president of marketing and guest experience. “Alaska’s long-standing relationship with the Disneyland Resort has helped to create unforgettable experiences for our guests and employees. As a family-friendly airline, it speaks to the care we strive to show everyday with these special touches.”
Knowing the joy the Disneyland Resort-themed planes can bring to families, Alaska Airlines and Disney sent several families and special guests on the inaugural flight to experience Alaska’s everyday level of care before heading off to Orange County, including priority boarding for families with children under two, family seating at no additional charge, coloring books and the popular Kids’ Choice Picnic Pack and Jetsetter’s Jam Sandwich for guests flying in our Premium and Main Cabins. The “Mickey’s Toontown Express” plane will offer activity books and snack packs onboard with designs that feature Mickey Mouse and his pals, while supplies last.
“Our relationship with Alaska Airlines is more than 25 years strong and truly celebrates the magic of Disney,” said Sybil Crum, vice president of marketing and commercial strategy at Disneyland Resort. “The plane’s artwork marks Alaska Airlines’ eighth transformation of an aircraft featuring Disney artistry and exhibits the excitement and playfulness of the re-imagined Mickey’s Toontown. We’re so delighted for the opportunity to create even more memorable experiences for our guests together.”
The plane’s exterior artwork is inspired by Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Park, a whimsical and newly reimagined, animated neighborhood where families can explore, play, discover and unwind together while enjoying new interactive experiences, familiar favorites and the new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.
Guests will be able to fly Alaska’s “Mickey’s Toontown Express” livery for the next several years before it reaches the end of its normal rotation. Alaska Airlines’ other Disneyland Resort-themed liveries include “Friendship and Beyond at the Disneyland Resort,” which portrays larger-than-life versions of Disney and Pixar’s “Toy Story” friends Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie at Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park, and the “Star Wars Transport to the Disneyland Resort,” a space-black livery that celebrates Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, a 14-acre land of adventure at Disneyland Park. The 737-800 boasts the iconic Millennium Falcon on the tail chased by TIE fighters.
Guests can always book their next trips to Southern California (or more than 120 other destinations) at alaskaair.com. And once there, it’s always a perfect time to visit Disneyland Resort and all the destination has to offer.
